It's Free, Why Not Join In? - The UK Herbarium is a herbal community based in the UK but open to everyone. Here you can join in with the herbal burble of life over in our forum, read a variety of herbal posts over in our community blog and learn new tips and information about herbs or share your experiences, whether you're a beginner or a herbal expert this community is for you.

Forum & Blog
- Joining in is easy, you can view most of the Forum and Blog content without having to create an account, however you will not be able to post on the forum without a forum account, nor will you have access to all its features.
The same applies to the UK Herbarium Blog, some of the content is viewable by registered users only, you must have an account to view these items and you need to be signed in to take part in discussions. You can leave a comment, but it will have to be approved before it appears live on the site.

Blog Parties - Each month we hold a 'Blog Party' individuals write an article on a given herbal topic and then post it on their own herb blog, they then send the title and the link location to the host of that months party. The host then compiles all of the submissions and writes an introduction post on their blog linking to all the other posts. Writers and readers of each blog can then read and leave comments on the blogs and take part in discussions via the UK Herbarium forum.

No Blog Of Your Own? No problem, if you'd like to occasionally post or take part in our monthly blog parties and either don't want to or can't set up your own blog, we can turn your registered 'subscriber' account on our blog to an 'author' account. This will enable you to post on the Herbarium blog and take part in the blog parties.

The UK Herbarium Webring

My friend Sarah Head started a thread over on the Herb Society forum, basically asking for more UK herb bloggers, I thought it was a superb idea and a great way of sharing what we know about our native herbs, information on herbalism, experiences of growing and using herbs and other information, so in 2007 I set up the UK Herbarium Webring.

In the USA blogging about herbs is widespread and there are lots of blogs for people to share their herbal views and interests, but it seems there are very few in the UK. Whilst the US blogs are interesting to read and we can learn lots from them, the emphasise is on US plants and their native herbs, measurements and methodology, it'd be good to have the same thing happening over here, so we become as knowledgable and confident in using our native plants, as our American cousins are.

I'm hoping that other UK based herb lovers will join us blogging about herbs, and share why they love them, what they use them for and share their successes and failures, recipes and herbal dreams. This webring was originally for people in the UK only, but in early 2010 I decided to expand and include Commonwealth countries so if you have a blog about herbs and your based in the UK or the Commonwealth follow the link above and join the UK & Commonwealth Herbarium Webring!
